There are no winners in this story.

So this girl (we're assuming she's a girl) calls herself "jean_summers" and posts in the 'net, right? One of the things she posts is some kind of sexual fanfic involving Cyclops, Wolverine, and Jean Grey (with a bonus, awkward sexual moment between Logan and the Beast) called (wait for it) "The Animal and the Gentleman".

You can't see us right now, but we're typing this with a straight face.

jean_summers actually says in an introductory note to Chapter 2: "I hope everyone thinks it's as sexy as I do."

. . . .

Seriously.

Actually, the story's author in the link is listed as "Frisque" -- get it? -- but a link in someone else's blog leads us to believe that Frique and jean_summers are one and the same. Which blog, you ask? Well, we're glad you asked.

Someone with the login name of "scottswife" (eeeeeee-yikes; just wait, it gets worse) has a LJ page that she's entitled "fanficrants" and apparently, she posted a complaint about the hottie-hot-hote Cyclops-Wolverine forbidden man-love story.

But she didn't complain because of what you might assume would be the reason why any self-righteous, knees-locked-together, lie-down-and-think-of-England, burn-down-the-barn-to-roast-the-pig type of nutjob would complain about slash fic.

No, she complained about "The Animal and the Gentleman" because, well, they offend her religion. And not because her religion prohibits re-imagining fictional characters in sexual situations, as any good, decent, American family values religion should!

No, her religion has something to do with the X-Men. And Cyclops/Scott Summers in particular. Observe. "Scottswife" responding to a few questions:

I honestly can't tell if you're actually batshit or not, and if you are, to what degree you are batshit. I also don't know whether or not you're a flat-out troll or genuine and willing to speak. But I have faith in humanity, so I'll try to be reasonable and assume that you're saying what you honestly believe and not just trolling.
I believe in what I said. I am not "batshit." Do you consider the people who claim to hear God talking to them batshit? Some woman sold a piece of cheese on eBay for thousands of dollars because people thought they saw Mary in it. Give me a break. My religion was rather private until I came across jean_summers who seemed to think that my reporting that story was a personal attack. She claims that I seek out people to bother. I don't. You'll notice that's the only story under that account. Probably because she's been banned for smut before. {And its badly written smut at that}
First, a question of curiosity: In what way do you believe Scott is connected to you? Do you think he's a fictional character that's come to "exist" in you, or do you think he's still fictional but you have personally invented a version of him? Or, hell, do you think he's fictional at all?
I don't believe he's fictional. I believe he's a spirit that am I close to. I used the word "married" but not in the sense that we stood before an altar and all that. Marriage is just hte joining of things. I meant it like that. jean_summers completely misquoted me in that ff.net message she posted. A lot of my words were changed and/or deleted.
Apparently, "scottswife" also has kids. To which we say:
