Fantastic... One?

CIVIL WAR HAS TORN THE FANTASTIC FOUR ASUNDER!

Newsarama sifts through the remains.

I'm not saying that because I hate france, I'm saying it because they couldn't have come up with another more pop-cliché place for him to go than france.

"Omg Ben doesn't want any part of the war, he's acting like everyone said the french did with the iraqi war. Lets have him go to France! It'll be brilliant..."

...no.

Sorry the fact that they fell on that stereotype is sad.

They ponder what makes an American an American.

Is it crying for your flag?

Pure blooded in my mind is different from being Native American.
Its like being a true blue American, you salute the flag, cry on the fourth of July, and have some quirkiness associated with Americans. That was my intention at least.

Is it taking a stand for what you believe?

You're missing the idea. The writers aren't making an alusion to France's stance on the Irag war. Grimm even saying it himself, he's harkening back to the ex-pats who left the US between the world wars because they weren't happy with the state of the country. Like Hemingway and, I don't know...Hemingway.

Is it eating fish and fucking?

The continuity cluster f*** really ruined the issue for me.

Clearly because of how the events in the second half of the issue went down, this happened after CW #4.

But having Sue write Reed a "See you later, we've been fighting all the time, here's a fish and a f*** for the road" letter and THEN just chilling out in the Baxter Building does not make sense.

Basically, the first half had to occur pre CW 4, the second half had to occur during/post the last ASM, which itself had to occur post CW4.

Other than that, JMS hit the Reed characterization on the head, and yeah, the ending totally sucked. I already READ Spider Man.
