Newsarama wonders Is Michael Turner the next Rob Liefeld?
It's either Turner, Bachalo, or Ramos. All 3 artists sell big just like Liefeld does, but because of their unique non-standard styles, they catch all kinds of flack from their haters.Yeah but Turner and Ramos get flack because they suck.
Discussion of "haters" ensues:
I like his art. I hate that it seems that the haters all get behind one another and then congregate to bash whenever his artwork is shown. But then I remember they're behind a keyboard and that's what makes them feel oh so powerful.
And people are honest about their feelings:
I dislike Turner, Liefeld, Lee and Campbell. Immensly.I speak only for me.

I'm happy to see Bachalo come out of that unscathed. I've never gotten the hate on Turner. I like his work and in person he is a very friendly guy.

IMO, Bachalo & Ramos were good artists that haven't improved much over the years and the quality of their art has waned a bit. Turner seems to be the only "bad girl" artist that is still around. I don't necessarily think he or any of the other 2 are horrible artists but I don't think Turner is all that great either.
Pat Lee, on the other hand, is just downright awful.

I like Bachalo's stuff, but I think he may have a tendency to go a little nuts with his illistration when left to his own devices and it ends up being too busy and to hard to "read". Of course, this opp is coming from one the one issue of "Steampunk" I have and that's a pretty piss-poor position to judge a whole body of work ;).
I also like Ramos work, but I'm into that Graff/Anime/Urban kind of thing anyway. I hear he's kind of a dick in person, though.
