CBR comes to Speedball's defense (when no one else will, poor guy).
Me dont find Speedball that bad. Really look at OTHER heros fight nitro. They faught the guy in a middle of cities where people could of died to and he could of exploded before."I mean out of thier leauge"
DD faught him an he aint exactly Thor. Only difference is Speedball caught nitro on a power up
But two wrongs is not a legal defense
So be invetigation how exactly nitro got a power up..something fishy. Hire some people to do so while I work on the case.
Discussions of legalities ensues...
If it actually gets to court, there is no way they can find him guilty of any charges now considering how the gov didn't give him his due process rights.
And ensues...
Unless there's a statement to the contrary in print somewhere in a Marvel comic, I think it's quite reasonable to suppose that the New Warriors were legally entitled to try to arrest the villains. The fact that they're regarded as having fouled up reflects that they made the attempt badly, not that they made the attempt at all.If you accept that the New Warriors were legally entitled to apprehend the villains, then no, Nitro didn't have the right to defend himself - that would be equivalent to resisting arrest.
If, for some reason, we were to assume that Nitro was blameless and the Warriors were acting illegally, then yes, he had the right to defend himself. However his explosion was a gross overreaction to the threat Namorita posed. If he has the ability to control the force of his blasts, then he's guilty of about 600 counts of first degree murder - even if he believed his life was in danger, he'd have at most been justified in using the minimum level of force necessary to prevent Namorita from harming him. If his explosive powers operate solely on the 'maximum setting', then legally he might be slightly less liable.
Whose side are you on?
